|
referencing software is essential for students completing long documents (theses and dissertations). These are links to some of
the software currently available. Before buying this software individually check with your institution there may already be licensed software
available for your use, a recommended package, or funds available for you to make this type of purchase.
- endnote - one of the most popular and commonly used packages. This site offers a free demo download.
- papyrus - is another commercial package for bibliography and reference making. Papyrus enables references to be imported from
any source.
- procite - is by the same company as endnote. It focusses on the importing of references.
- elfin forest software - offers software for creating bibliographies in either APA or MLA styles. This group also offers other software tools for thesis writing students.
- reference manager - another product from the people who brought you endnote and procite. A free demo download is available.
- biblioscape - is an alternative to endnote. It has a cheaper license and also has 30 day demo download.
- reference point - offers a series of templates for various word processors. This is a minimal solution but it may be appropriate for
smaller tasks.
- refDB - is a reference database and bibliography tool for SGML, XML, and LaTeX documents. This is an attempt to provide
most of the functionality of commercial packages like Reference Manager or EndNote in a platform-independent tool, targeting
markup languages rather than word processors.
